Join us for an unforgettable adventure in the Scottish Highlands, where every moment is an opportunity to connect with nature and discover the beauty of this remarkable region.
Based in the Cairngorm National Park in the Highlands of Scotland, we have access to a wide range of different habitats including striking montane habitats, dramatic moorlands, enchanting forests, beautiful lochs, and impressive coastlines, all teeming with a wide variety of bird species. The birds and habitats change from season to season, and there is no one time that is “better” than another. Different seasons present different species and changes in scenery and light. We use highly experienced and local professional wildlife guides, whose fingers are on the pulse of where to go and what to see at all times of the year. Our tours will take you to all the following locations and more throughout your trip. Our trips are very relaxed, and the itinerary itself is kept flexible to maximize your experience. We do not rush or “tick”; it is about enjoying the wildlife and scenery in wonderful company.
Depending on the time of year you come, some of the places you can expect to visit during your week here include:
Cairngorm Mountain: Scotland's second highest mountain area, a walk can be made up to the summit or one of the Coire's to look for some of our hardier wildlife (weather permitting and dependent on fitness of the group).
Strathdearn (nicknamed Raptor Alley): A stunning valley with varying habitats looking for raptors and Red Deer along with lots of other wildlife.
The Moray Coast: From Inverness to Spey Bay. Great habitat and birds at various locations year round, but in winter large rafts of overwintering waders, ducks, geese, divers etc. can be seen.
The Black Isle, north of Inverness: Including places such as Kessock, Udale Bay, and Chanonry Point.
Local Pine Forests and Lochs: We will take a walk in one or more of our stunning forests which is home to many of our resident species and summer migrants
Moorland: Various locations have some great moorland habitat where we will be looking for some of our Grouse and other moorland species.
We may venture over to either the West Coast with its stunning scenery and more chances of raptors and seabirds, or the East Coast, or maybe both.
There is generally limited walking on our tours, however if the group is fit enough, we can arrange longer walks.
Join us for an unforgettable journey in the Cairngorms National Park and surrounding area.
